The rains begin throughout the national territory, announced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (inameh)through the unit manager, Angel Graterol, who announced that the country will arrive three (3) Tropical Waves of the season, the first one for this weekend.
Graterol, in telephone contact with VTV, reported that for this afternoon-night and the following hours, abundant clouds and rains, showers and varied precipitations are forecast in the east, Zulia, the northern coastal center, all the Venezuelan plains, in Amazonas, Bolívar and the Essequibo.
According to the atmospheric dynamics, and the activation of the Intertropical Convergence Zone, he affirmed that from Inameh “we are constantly monitoring and in the next few hours the rains will continue in the national territory, the rains will continue,” he reiterated, to advise taking forecasts and alerts in the presence of bad weather.
He announced that the presence of three (3) tropical waves is already observed in the Atlantic Ocean, number 1 is located approximately one thousand kilometers from the northeast coast of Venezuela, and according to its current displacement this Friday it will reach the north of the Venezuelan Essequibo in hours of the afternoon-night. “It is estimated that over the weekend we will be affected by this number one tropical wave.”
He also informed that, for this year, forecasts between 55 and 65 tropical waves that will form in the Atlantic and will have influence over the Venezuelan territory. The year 2022, despite the fact that a higher statistic was estimated, it was below with the trajectory of 52 waves.
Graterol asserted that not all Tropical Waves will cause precipitation, because that will depend on many factors, including the dynamics of the Intertropical Convergence Zone and other elements.
However, he called for prudence, responsibility and preventive measures in the citizenship, to avoid the eventualities that are generally associated with the rainy season.
