FA leaders criticized Enciso: "There are ambassadors who have a crown"

Several leaders of the Broad Front they criticized the statements by the Uruguayan ambassador in Argentina, Carlos Encisoin which he warned that if there is a change of government in Uruguay Argentine businessmen can “rethink” investments in Uruguay.

“I do not doubt that if the sign changes, hopefully notthere are people who may be rethinking. The one who is not going to leave due to a change of government automatically but the one who is not there and can come around listens in another way and sees how the rules of the game are“, declared the ambassador in an interview with the program Who is Who on Diamante FM.

The first reaction from the opposition came from the senator’s Twitter account Daniel Caggiani which – along with the video with the statements – published: “It seems that in this government there are ambassadors who have crowns. diplomats They cannot carry out activities or make political/partisan statements. Even to make declarations of its own function They need the express authorization of the minister.

A few hours later, the also senator Lilliam Kechichian described Enciso’s statements on Twitter as “totally inappropriate”and made another allusion to the “crown”. “They do not accept that the opposition has an opinion and they call it little Uruguayan but they are silent in the face of a tremendous violation of their duties as ambassador of the country”criticized the legislator.

His criticism refers to the words of Alvaro DelgadoSecretary of the Presidency, who assured in a press conference this Thursday that “You have to be more Uruguayan” and pointed out that “It is difficult for some to accept the good news and say that it is good regardless of the government that is carrying it out.”

Kechichian said in another tweet that Delgado is a “crack builder”and recalled a 2011 opinion column by The Observer in which it was highlighted that the current president Luis Lacalle Pou advised “not to invest in a government of (José) Mujica.”

“With FA governments, foreign investment It grew like it hadn’t in the previous 20 years.”he added in another post.

Another leader who reacted to the words of the ambassador in Argentina was the senator Mario Bergarawho expressed –also on Twitter– that Enciso’s words are “inadmissible”and remarked that the ambassador he is “violating the rules, without understanding that he represents the country in his role and not his party”. In addition, he requested that Foreign Ministry “take action on the matter.”

“Coming back with the cuckoo that a Broad Front government scares away investments is unusual. Just as data, during the Frente Amplio governments, foreign investment was, on average, four times larger than that of the previous half century”, affirmed the ex-minister of Economy.
