Passenger service and baggage check-in for the European airlines Air France and KLM will be transferred to the new Terminal 2 of the Tocumen International Airport, starting this Monday, January 16.
The Air France and KLM group reported that all flights to and from Panama will operate from the new airport facilities, so their customers should only go to T2 of the Tocumen International Airport to check-in, register their baggage, make the migration process, security and later board your flight.
Raffoul Arab, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport said that: “The transfer of Air France and KLM services from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 is a significant step within the schedule established for the reorganization and balance of our operations, which that will contribute to the optimization of our airport services”.
For his part, Antoine Cros, manager of Air France and KLM for Panama, Central America and the Dominican Republic, expressed: “For Air France and KLM, Panama is a very important destination and with this step we are proud to support the expansion of the Hub of the Americas. while we offer our clients a better quality of service.”
KLM currently offers six weekly frequencies on the Panama City-Amsterdam route with Boeing 787-10 aircraft, with a capacity of 280 passengers. While Air France operates a daily flight between Panama City —Paris in Boeing 777-200 aircraft with availability for 312 people; from their hubs, they offer connections to hundreds of destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Statistical data from the Tocumen International Airport highlight that between January and November 2022 to and from Europe, the traffic of 707,167 travelers has been registered, of which 334,492 have entered the country or have taken a flight to different European cities.
