Santo Domingo.- This Friday night and tomorrow Saturday, including during the New Year holidays, there will be moderate rains with some gusts of wind in the north, northeast, southeast, and Central Cordillera regions, produced by a trough located in the north of the country, reported the National Meteorological Office (ONAMET).
In Santo Domingo this Saturday, December 31, the sky will be clear in the early hours of the day, but during the afternoon the cloudiness will increase with rain in some sectors, according to the forecast.
Already at midnight during the New Year’s party in Santo Domingo the sky will be partly cloudy, cool temperatures and little rain in much of the city.
According to the Meteorology forecast, the main rains will occur in Santiago, La Vega, Duarte, Montecristi, Valverde, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, among other towns in the northern region and the Cibao area, to the extent that the trough is affecting the area of prognosis.
Temperatures will be cool in most of the provinces, below 22 degrees, but in the mountainous areas of the Cibao region between 6 and 12 degrees Celsius.
In the tourist area of San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana and La Altagracia this Saturday the sky will be partly cloudy with some rain in the afternoon and early Sunday morning, according to the extended forecast of Meteorology.
As for the waves from María Trinidad Sánchez, to Cabo Engaño, La Altagracia, through the Atlantic Ocean it is abnormal, therefore small boats must navigate close to the coast.
But, in the rest of the area, including the Caribbean Sea, marine conditions are favorable for all vessels to navigate, as reported.
