Bolsonaro leaves Brazil two days before the end of his term

This Friday, December 30, Jair Bolsonaro, who in October lost the presidential elections against the leftist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, made a live broadcast on his social networks, in which he assured that “battles are lost, but we will not lose the war.”

The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, flew to Florida, United States (USA) on December 30, two days before the end of his term. That same day, the Diario de la Unión, the country’s official bulletin, published an authorization for four members of the president’s team to travel to the North American country between January 1 and 30 “to provide advice, security, and support staff of the future former President of the Republic” during his international tour.

The far-right president said goodbye to his affections through a live broadcast on his social networks without indicating if he will be present during the position of Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva. “The world will not end on January 1st. We have a great future ahead of us. Battles are lost, but we will not lose wars,” Bolsonaro said through tears during the broadcast, his first since the election he lost in October.

He addressed the hundreds of followers who continue to mobilize in front of military headquarters in Brasilia and other cities, urging an intervention by the Armed Forces to prevent the return of Lula to the power.

According to AFP, the Brazilian president was subjected to insults during the broadcast, with qualifications such as “cowardly” and “shameless.” However, Bolsonaro asserted that his administration “at least” delayed the collapse of Brazil “into this disastrous ideology that is the left” by four years.

He criticized an attempted attack with an explosive in the surroundings of the Brasilia airport carried out by his sympathizers last week. “Nothing justifies this attempted terrorist act,” he said, although he defended the rest of the protesters camped in the capital.
