Senate ratifies its position on regulations that implement the mandatory use of scanners

The Ministry of Education issued a new clarification regarding the Financing Agreement between the European Union and Paraguay, which is strongly questioned by sectors of parents and pro-life and pro-family organizations.

The MEC indicated that the clarification is given before the “dissemination of images and documents that misleadingly mix information with the intention of confusing and misinforming.”

In that sense, the education portfolio states that the valid and official document of the Financing Agreement is written only in Spanish and that no law can have attached documents that are not public knowledge.

“The European Union offers UNCONDITIONAL budgetary support, transferred to the Ministry of Finance and executed through the PGN of the MEC,” the statement underlines.

So too, the MEC indicates that the European Union grants complementary aid corresponding to direct and indirect subsidies to organizations that further educational objectives (not executed or administered by MEC).

On this point, the institution points out that this complementary aid of 17 million euros does not have axes, since it is organized into components. “The agreement DOES NOT INCLUDE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ISSUES ON GENDER IDEOLOGY within the educational system and is only aligned with what is established by the NC, the National Education Plan 2024, the Educational Action Plan 2018-2023”, he refers.

Likewise, it maintains that the integration of other aspects such as rights-based approach and gender equality are defined based on current regulations of our country

“The eventual repeal of Law 6659/20 will affect the financing of MEC budget programs that do not have the required financial totality from other sources,” warns the state portfolio.
