The president of the Sangre Panamá Foundation, Gabriel Rebollón, referred this Thursday to the importance of blood donation and how critical they are in the face of the lack of importance that citizens have given to this practice that saves lives.

He assured that hospitals in Panama at the national level are in need of voluntary donations of blood, platelets and on some occasions, plasma; situation that is not only being experienced in our country but worldwide.

He commented that one of the myths that is very common is that of tattoos and piercings. “Yes, you can donate after six months of having them done,” she said.

Another myth is that after donating blood we gain weight, and from a scientific point of view, after this process it has no effect on people’s weight.
