Beder Camacho Gadea warned that, in case something happens to him, he has instructed his relatives to broadcast a video in which the former undersecretary of the Presidency of the Republic reveals alleged acts of corruption perpetrated by the president peter castle and members of his most intimate environment in the Government Palace.
According to the constitutional complaint that the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, filed against President Castillo, Beder Camacho is designated as a member of the so-called “shadow cabinet” and of having participated in actions to hinder justice on the orders of the head of the Condition.
Last Tuesday, by court order, a team of prosecutors and police raided the residence of Beder Camacho, who is credited with have tried to negotiate the silence of the former presidential adviser Bruno Pacheco-Castilloalso by order of Pedro Castillo.
The former presidential undersecretary affirms that he receives threats so that he does not say a word about what he knows. In response, He stated that if he receives any retaliation, he will tell everything and that his confession is recorded on video.
“Like any ordinary citizen I don’t have security, I don’t have anything, because I received threats last week. I received a call days before. (…) They are things that no one knows where they come from, but if something happens to me, you will already know where those threats come from or where that attack came from (…) I hold the members of the organization they are investigating responsible for this threat that I have received”, declared Beder Camacho by telephone to radio Exitosa.
The “organization they are investigating,” to which Camacho alluded, would be the one headed by President Pedro Castillo, according to the complaint by the National Prosecutor.
The Special Team of Prosecutors against the Corruption of Power accuses Beder Camacho of having visited the embassies of Mexico and Venezuela to process political asylum for Bruno Pacheco and the president’s nephews, Friar Vasquez Castillo and Gian Marco Castillo Gomez. The special team led by Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado Huamaní filmed Camacho when he entered the diplomatic missions.
On the brink of confession
If you reach an agreement with the prosecutors, and if you accept as a protected witness or effective collaborator, Beder Camacho Gadea would be an exceptional witness due to his proximity or protagonist of criminal acts that involve President Castillo and his closest collaborators inside and outside the Government Palace.
For this reason, Camacho in his last statement strongly stressed that they should stop intimidating him, otherwise he would spread everything he knows firsthand.
“If they think that by killing Beder Camacho they are going to silence this, I tell them publicly that I have recorded a video where I am telling my truth. I am going to continue telling my truth, but I have also asked for protection in case something happens to me, and the videos will automatically come out,” threatened Beder Camacho.
On November 25, 2021, Beder Camacho was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Presidency and, in the midst of the scandal over the accusations against him, he was dismissed on August 26, 2022.
to keep it calm, the Government of Pedro Castillo appointed him as an advisor in the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations. However, after his home was raided as part of an operation by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutors Team, he was removed from office.
In an interview on the program ‘Tiempo real’, by journalist Jaime Díaz Mayurí, Beder Camacho made it clear that his loyalty was to his family and the country, without mentioning President Pedro Castillo.
“On WhatsApp I received a call from an unknown number, and as always (…) I received threats against my physical integrity. (…) The tranquility is that we are ready to offer and attend all the proceedings that the Public Ministry summons us. We are on that path, and as I repeat, my loyalty is with my family and with my country”, Camacho noted.
“From the first moment I have attended and I have provided all the information that the Public Ministry has requested (…) I trust the Public Ministry and I trust that an objective investigation will be carried out on this process,” he said.
The operator
However, according to the journalist of the magazine Hildebrandt in his thirteen Américo Zambrano, Beder Camacho gave him false information to harm the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavidesas stated in the complaint against President Castillo.
“What is true about everything that is published about you?” journalist Jaime Díaz asked Beder Camacho.
“It is an issue on which I would like to tell my truth, but it is a reserved issue, where neither party can give statements,” he replied.
Camacho defended himself against the accusations of the Special Team of Prosecutors against the Corruption of Power. For example, denies having belonged to the so-called “shadow cabinet”whose members allegedly did the “dirty work” ordered by President Pedro Castillo.
“My children are calm because they know who their father is. They know that their father has not grabbed a sol from the State. I live from my salary, from my consultancies and from the business that I always do honestly. I have always said that you have to walk straight, ”he indicated.
“There never was a ‘shadow cabinet’”, in my case I’ve never been a member of a ‘shadow cabinet‘”, said.
However, several effective collaborators of the Special Team of Prosecutors against the Corruption of Power have indicated that Beder Camacho acted as President Castillo’s operator to hinder the action of justice in order to protect his nephews. If he avails himself of effective collaboration, Camacho will have to confess his crimes.
