The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) announced that it will install a modular bridge as soon as possible to restore traffic in the district of Oronccoy, province of La Mar, Ayacucho region, which was interrupted a few days ago after the fall of the Kutinachaka bridge just one year after being inaugurated.
According to the executive director of Provías Descentralizado, Alejandro Ahumada, a technical team visited the Oronccoy area to propose urgent technical solutions, and it was then that it was decided to install a modular bridge to recover vehicular traffic in the area.
With this objective, continued Ahumada, Decentralized Provias will request the Provincial Municipality of La Mar, responsible for the administration of the road, the signing of an agreement for the delegation of powers and thus make possible the execution of the intervention.
He stressed that representatives of the MTC are in constant meetings with officials from the subnational governments involved (Regional Government of Ayacucho, Provincial Municipality of La Mar and District Municipality of Oronccoy) so that the technical solutions that are implemented are the most suitable for the affected population.
“We call on the competent authorities to carry out the necessary steps for the declaration of emergency of the affected road to expedite its comprehensive care.l”, said the MTC.
