The officer of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) Deiberth Josué Acosta Soto (19), was arrested because he allegedly fired his regulation weapon against a student from the National Experimental Security University (Unes).
According to judicial sources, this event occurred last Saturday at the facilities of the PNB station located in front of Plaza Bolívar de Cabudare (Lara).
Simón Teodoro Alvarado Vásquez, 21, a UNES student at the Lara state headquarters, was injured there.
Officer Acosta Soto presumably fired his regulation weapon, a Beretta PX4, against Alvarado Vásquez’s face, leaving wounds in the left temporal region, occipital region, and the index finger of his left hand.
Initially, the wounded man was admitted to the emergency room of the Don Felipe Ponte de Cabudare Ambulatory, but, due to the severity, he was transferred to the Doctor Antonio María Pineda Central Hospital of Barquisimeto.
The Public Ministry opened an investigation to clarify the fact.
