17 arrested for illegal fuel manufacturing

A total of 17 people were arrested in Zulia for their alleged participation in the extraction of crude oil belonging to PDVSA and the clandestine manufacture of fuel, according to police sources.

The arrests were made through an area saturation and containment device in the municipalities of Maracaibo (Ciudad Losada; Troncal Caribe, Avenida La Guajira, Puerto Caballo sector) and Mara (Río Seco), in Zulia state.

In the aforementioned sites, officials from the Strategic Investigations Directorate of the Bolivarian National Police seized 279 containers, 3,585 liters of hydrocarbons, an artisanal oven, 12 homemade funnels, as well as three vehicles: Chevrolet 350 platform type, license plate A676I2S , Ford 350 plate A59AL6M and Toyota Terios plate AI625IG.

Those arrested for illegal fuel manufacturing were identified as: Samuel Villalobos (62), Ánima Fuenmayor (60), Guillermo Rojas (50), Elmer Rincón (46), Nilda Fuenmayor (43), Ana Villalobos (36), Karina Rosales ( 34) Diowil Palmar (31) Alan Soto (29), Andri Mayor (27), Yorvis González (25), Yoelvis Grau (20), José Pérez (19), Keiver Grau (18) Rodrigo Pérez (17) Arcenio González ( 17) and Arcelio Gonzalez (15).

Initially, these people will be prosecuted for extraction of crude oil, manufacture and clandestine sale of hydrocarbons (gasoline and diesel) belonging to the Venezuelan State, according to the sources.
