10 years in prison for a man who committed sexual crimes against two girls in Monte Plata

The Collegiate Court of Monte Plata sentenced 10 years in prison to a man who committed sexual crimes to the detriment of two underage sisters.

José Robles Leguisamón, 60 years old, was convicted of sexually assaulting the little girl five-year-old and raping his 10-year-old sister, an act that the perpetrator committed in his home. The names of the victims are withheld to protect their identity.

The ruling also establishes that the convicted person must pay compensation of RD$300,000 in favor of the ten-year-old girl, for the moral damages caused to her.

The file indicates that the Public Ministry became aware of the case as a result of a complaint it received through the Life Line, from which it obtained an arrest warrant against Robles Leguisamón, which it executed around 10:00 a.m. the morning of December 5, 2019.

The court accepted the accusation presented by the prosecutor Yaquelín Valencia Nolasco, which establishes that the defendant violated articles 330 and 331 of the Dominican Penal Code and article 396 of the Code for the Protection and Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents (Law 136- 03).
