Young Spaniard injured by the explosion of the Saratoga is out of danger

MIAMI, United States. – César Román, the young Spaniard who was injured in the explosion at the Saratoga hotel, “is evolving favorably and has already left the ICU of the hospital where he remains hospitalized,” he said on Monday The voice of Galicia.

The couple had traveled to the island to celebrate the recently completed 30 years of César Román.

After the news of the unfortunate event, the young man’s relatives traveled to Havana. The two Spanish tourists lived in the municipality of As Pontes.

The death had been registered in the Civil Registry of the Spanish Consulate in Havana. This procedure is essential for repatriation.

Cristina López-Cerón had studied Humanities in Viveiro. After graduating she studied Economics at the University of Santiago de Compostela. In 2016, she completed a master’s degree in banking and finance and later worked in financial entities such as Caixabank and Abanca.

The Saratoga Hotel tragedy

The Saratoga Hotel tragedy claimed the lives of 46 people, mostly hotel workers. According to the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 99 people were injured as a result of the accident.

The explosion, which according to Alexis Acosta Silva, mayor of Old Havana, took place when a liquefied gas bullet was being fitted in the hotel, caused the entire facade of the building, located in front of the Capitol of Havana, to blow up. .

The fatalities were mainly hotel workers who were inside the building at the time, and people who were passing by. All the dead were Cubans, except Cristina Lopez-Ceron.
