In today’s match (15), the coach made three changes in relation to the team that played last Friday (11). They started playing defender Kathellen (in Lauren’s place), right-back Bruninha (Fê Palermo) and striker Geyse (Ludmila). The first half started nervously for Brazil, with dangerous arrivals from the Canadian attack, but from the 30’s onwards, the team took over the match until they opened the scoring in the 40th minute, with Kerolin stealing the ball in midfield. Number 10 shot with the ball, broke away from the marking and waited for the moment to give Bia Zaneratto a fulminating left cross kick.
On the way back from the break, the team returned with the same offensive rhythm. But at 15 minutes, in an attempt to block Lawrence’s attack, Canada’s number 10, Geyse went up and the ball ended up hitting his arm. The referee noted the penalty, which Lawrence herself converted. Everything is the same at the Corinthians stadium. The draw did not weaken the Brazilian team. In the 46th minute, after a corner kick, Gabi Nunes took a chance with a header, goalkeeper Yekka blocked the goal on the line, but it was no use: the ball was left for Ana Vitória to push into the back of the net, guaranteeing the Brazilian triumph.
