The case of the death of Mauricio Leal and his mother Marleny Hernández has once again gained relevance after the discovery of some revealing videos where the Valle del Cauca stylist appears in his last moments of life.

Erika Sanguinettilawyer of Carlos Andrés García Hernández, the other brother of Mauricio and Jhonier Leal, was the person who discovered that and another recording on Mauricio Leal’s cell phone, when it was handed over to him by the Prosecutor’s Office to be subjected to an expert opinion.

“It is original, it was not manipulated or implanted in the cell phone and it was recorded at 6:41 am on November 22, 2021, the day of the crime.”according to what the lawyer told Noticias Caracol.
“We analyzed the video and it really caught our attention. It was a video that needed to be extracted by a forensic computer lab,” said the lawyer defending the interests of Mauricio Leal’s brother who is deprived of his liberty in a prison in Jamundí, Valle del Cauca.
“They were in plain sight just by opening the cell phone. It is a video that should be part of the evidence and more so when Mr. Carlos Andrés, as a victim, had every right to know.”the lawyer told the news outlet.

The Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement on Mauricio Leal’s new videos
The prosecuting body issued a statement to the public in which it refers to the revealing videos of Mauricio Leal dying in his bed next to the lifeless body of his mother, Marleny Hernández, in his apartment located in La Calera, Cundinamarca.
The text of the document seemed confusing to the lawyer of Mauricio and Jhonier Leal’s brother, as she deduced that it would have apparent contradictions.
In the first paragraph, the bulletin says that the Prosecutor’s Office discovered the two videos of 47 and 26 seconds and they were delivered with a copy to Jhonier Leal’s defense.
However, the third point of the statement says that the two videos could not be extracted “for strict technical reasons and lacking recording dates on the cell phone, the analysts were unable to locate the videos from November 22, 2021, the day of the double homicide. Given that they were unaware of their existence, the two videos were not used in the debates by either the First Delegate Prosecutor’s Office or the defense.”
