Santo Domingo.- The Senate approved this Friday in second reading the Organic Bill of Supervision and Control of the National Congress.
The initiative, by senators Félix Bautista and Ramón Rogelio Genao, seeks to regulate the procedure of oversight and political control by the National Congress.
As the project explains, part of the purpose of the inspection is to determine the legality of the collection, collection, administration, custody, management, exercise, and application of public resources.

This includes subsidies, transfers and donations, plus acts, contracts, agreements, mandates, funds, trusts, presentation of public services, operations or any act of supervised entities.
Additionally, check whether the execution of the General State Budget has been adjusted to the criteria indicated therein.
The project orders the creation of an Oversight Commission in each legislative chamber.
Other projects
In this Friday’s session, the Senate also approved and declared urgent, in two readings, the bill that declares the last day of the month of February of each year as “National Rare Disease Day.”
The piece seeks to raise awareness among the population and mobilize resources for the treatment and care of those suffering from these conditions.
In addition, the bill that declares Professor Juan Emilio Bosch Gaviño and Dr. José Francisco Antonio Peña Gómez as “Fathers of Democracy” was approved and declared urgent.
