After the decision of the PPD, who finally opted for two lists for the election of constituent councillors, the Socialist Party (PS) agreed to ally with Approve Dignity in the integration of the lists, but without mentioning them directly.
“The decision we adopt today is of an electoral nature, it does not constitute the creation of a new coalition or modification of the current ones. We reaffirm our commitment to continue working with our Democratic Socialism coalition, as our natural space in programmatic and ideological terms,” he says. the statement issued by the political commission of the party led by Paulina Vodanovic.

In this sense, they add that the country is going through a “unique moment”, since the possibility of “having a Constitution born in democracy is at stake. And in the year in which we commemorate the greatest fracture in our country, the 50th anniversary of the Coup de State. For this reason, from the PS they repeatedly called for the unity of the official parties, which in the end did not happen, because there will be two lists: the one that will integrate the PS, together with the Broad Front and the Liberal Party, and the one that will integrate the PPD -his historic partner- with the Christian Democracy (DC) and the Radical Party (PR). Precisely to the PPD they dedicated a paragraph of their statement: “It is necessary, as it was in the past to defeat the dictatorship, to face this feat with the maximum unity of the transforming forces. Unity is needed more than ever, leaving aside legitimate differences and partisan considerations, because the stakes are higher. We are in danger of a regression in social rights and in the protection and respect of human rights. That is why we call on the other political forces to join the unit.”
“The Socialist Party of Chile is convinced that united we are more. Our decision is consistent with this, we have promoted a unitary list of government forces, therefore, we reaffirm our support with all those who decide to participate in it,” they close.
At the exit, the president of the PS, Paulina Vodanovic He reaffirmed the decision, arguing that the Approve Dignity list is the one that concentrates “greatest unity.” “We have already made the decision to join the list that today is concentrating the largest unit. Therefore, as I have said, together with the Liberal Party, we are going to be on that list, ”he assured.
But, in the same way, he called on different opposition groups to join the list in question. “We invite the Radical Party, the PPD and the DC to join that list,” he added.
