Palmeiras presented this Thursday (3) the signings for the women’s team, which will compete in the Brazilian and Paulista Championships, the Libertadores and the Brazilian Supercup. The Palestrinas debut will be precisely in this last competition, this Sunday (6), at 10:30 am (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo.
One of the new faces is an old acquaintance of the crowd: Bia Zaneratto. The 28-year-old forward defended Palmeiras in the last two seasons, always on loan from Wuhan Xinjiyuan (China). Now the contract is final. In 2020, the passage was short, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (covid-19), with only two games (and two goals). In 2021, lent until the Tokyo Olympics (Japan), she played 15 times, with 13 goals and eight assists, being top scorer and elected the best player of the last Brazilian.

The Empress is even one of the four athletes from Verdão summoned by the technique Pia Sundhage for the International Tournament of France, which will be played between the 16th and 22nd, in the French city of Caen. Goalkeeper Jully and midfielders Ary Borges and Julia Bianchi were also called up to the national team.
“I am very happy to return to Palmeiras. I think I can already say that this is my home. I couldn’t complete last season, which was good for me, but I hope that this year, doing a whole season, we can have excellent results collectively and not just individually”, said Bia at the press conference.
Another novelty is Andreinha. The 26-year-old midfielder, who has two participations in the World Cup and the Olympics, defended rival Corinthians in the last two seasons. For Timão, she was two-time Brazilian and São Paulo champion, in addition to winning Libertadores in 2021.
“I still haven’t had contact with the Palmeiras fans, but I saw [a repercussão] on social media, many people sent messages, happy to arrive at the club. I think what I did at Corinthians is in the past and today I just think about what I’m going to build at Palmeiras. I think knowing the other side is a positive point, maybe it can help in that sense. I only think here and what I did there is left behind”, commented Andreseinha also at the press conference.
Like Andresinha, forward Byanca Brasil and defender Day Silva reinforce Verdão after defending a rival last season (they played for Santos). Byanca Brasil, 26, was also at Corinthians between 2016 and 2017, when Timão had a partnership with Audax, being Brazilian and Libertadores champions. Day, 29, played five years at Flamengo, where she was national champion in 2016.
“I know the pressure of wearing this shirt, but I try not to take it to the pitch to exercise it in the best possible way, score goals and seek titles. With the team we have for this year, we will come out strong in all competitions”, said Byanca, another athlete present at the press conference.

Two other reinforcements came from Ferroviária: midfielders Samia Pryscila, 35 years old, and Patrícia Sochor, 27 years old. The latter, 2020 Libertadores champion, wore the Palmeiras shirt previously in futsal and spent three years at Santos, between 2017 and 2019. alviverde, Hoffman Tulio. Because she contracted covid-19, she did not participate in the cast presentation.
The alviverde squad has 26 players at the moment. In addition to the six reinforcements, goalkeepers Awanny and Jully, defenders Agustina Barroso, Carolzinha and Thais, sides Bruna Calderan, Evelin and Manu, midfielders Ana Clara, Ary Borges, Camilinha, Dóroty, Duda Santos, Julia Bianchi, Juliana and Katrine, and forwards Carol Rodrigues, Chú, Giovana and Ottilia.
