Joao Azevedo (PSB): 69 years old, is the current governor of Paraíba, is a civil engineer. He had 39.65% of the valid votes in the first round. Pedro Cunha Lima (PSDB): 34 years old, born in Campina Grande, he is a federal deputy, having been elected for the first time in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. He received 23.9% of the valid votes. Lawyer and professor, the candidate comes from a traditional political family in the state. His father is former senator Cássio Cunha Lima and his grandfather is former governor Ronaldo Cunha Lima. Pedro was elected federal deputy for the first time in 2014 and was reelected in 2018. Domiciano Cabral, 67, is the candidate for vice president.
