Eulogia Quispe could not believe what she was seeing: the lifeless body of her cousin Wilma Fernández in a coffin. Around the coffin a lot of flower arrangements and the benches of the wake room full of known and unknown.

She, who arrived at the wake with a large bouquet of roses, affirms that she did not know Jashiro Oliver Hayakawa Condarco, who was presented by the authorities as the author of the crime.

Eulogia’s husband, Gregorio Cochi, did not hear of him either, until the press conference given by the Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, on Saturday at 10:10 p.m. “We are from the family and we feel outraged. We ask for justice, that he and all his accomplices be given the maximum penalty, he should not have been the only one to blame, ”he claimed.

She says that Wilma suffered the death of her father last year and in February it was a year since that death. “He should be 30 years direct and all his accomplices. We are going to organize demonstrations, something has to be done as a family, ”he added.

Wilma’s friends also had no knowledge of the confessed author of the femicide. Maribel Villacorta Vega’s family was also at Wilma’s last goodbye.

Maribel remembers Wilma as “a wonderful, beautiful, humble, affectionate person, who did not like problems.”

“I met Wilma 16 years ago in Spain. We were there in contact, she is a friend of mine for many years. She came to me nine years ago and then she came to study. She went professional and about two years ago she left again, ”refers the woman at the exit of her friend’s wake.

She, for a time, became Wilma’s confidante and even became friends with a former crush of hers, but she never heard him talk about Hayakawa. “She does not have children, she has always had bad luck with her partners and she always thought well. Her goal was to study and unfortunately she passed this ”.

investigations

The police commander, Jhonny Aguilera, gave more information about Wilma’s femicide. He said that follow-up was carried out “as of March 22, the date on which this subject took his life.”

“These are unverifiable data,” he said. She stated that thanks to video recordings of her, it was learned that Wilma was taken to the femicide’s house, where he killed her and then took her to the Yungas. Aguilera said that the detainee told what he had done to a third person and asked him to keep quiet. In her apartment they found 10 pieces of evidence that incriminate him.

Before going to London, Wilma worked in Spain

Wilma Fernández was a very loved person in Madrid. Precisely in the Spanish capital there was a vigil asking for justice for the woman who remained there for years and who was murdered on March 22.

Maribel Villacorta met Wilma 16 years ago. Since then, they have forged a long-distance friendship.

“He went to Spain because his mother is there. We met there, she is a friend of mine, of my brothers, of my family, “explained Maribel during the wake of the murdered woman.

“In Madrid I knew her working in houses. She also worked in supermarkets, she was in Carrefour. She worked in what is there, taking care of old people, children and cleaning houses, ”Maribel commented.

She stated that she knew that she had returned to Bolivia and was later willing to return to Europe. In London she had the possibility of working in an occupation linked to her professional career.

She also added that Wilma was very fond of her mother, Juana. “Her mother is there in Madrid and she is in poor health.”

After learning about Wilma’s femicide, there was a demonstration in Madrid asking for justice.

The vigil was held in the Plaza Elíptica, a site located between the districts of Carabanchel and Usera. There is a significant number of migrants there, especially from Latin America.

Juana Quispe, Wilma’s mother, was present at this march. The woman was dressed in yellow and remained seated. The cries for justice were the common denominator of the day.
