The spokesman for We are Peru, Wilmar Eleraadvanced that his bench does not consider that –as one sector of the opposition points out– the new ministerial cabinet, chaired by Anibal Torresis intended to confront the Congress of the republic to achieve closure. They expect ministers get to work “as soon as possible” for the benefit of the country.
“From our bench we doubt that this cabinet has been created to close Congress, we give it the benefit of the doubt and we hope that they will start working as soon as possible to generate employment, reactivate the economy and health,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
Cabinet Torres will abide by the decision of Congress
Before the criticism for an alleged spirit of confrontation towards the Parliamentthe President of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torresnoted that his cabinet will accept the decision made by Congress on the vote of confidence when they appear before the Chamber.

In this regard, he indicated that the granting of the investiture is a determination of Parliament, so that, in the face of a refusal, they will comply “silently.” In the next few days, they will coordinate with the Board of Directors of Congress to set the date of their presentation at the Legislative Palace, within the 30 days provided for in the Constitution.
In this line, Hannibal Torres anticipated that the new cabinet will not seek confrontation: “We have no desire to confront anyone. We are not going to confront anyone. They will provoke us, but we will not respond. (…). I am well aware of the role I have to play,” she declared.
