Wilfrido Robledo dies, former director of CISEN, linked to the Atenco case

Who was Wilfrido Robledo Madrid?

Robledo was born in Acapulco, Guerrero. His police career began in 1983 in Tabasco, where he served as director of Public Security from 1982 to 1988, in the government of Enrique González Pedrero.

In 2005, he was commissioner of the State Security Agency (ASE) of the government of Enrique Peña Nieto in the State of Mexico.

He was identified as the “brain” of the operation in San Salvador Atenco that left three dead, more than one hundred wounded, 211 detainees and 47 women raped, tortured and imprisoned, including two Spanish citizens.

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) sentenced the Mexican State after finding it responsible for “sexual violence, rape and torture” against 11 women in the Atenco case, which occurred in the State of Mexico on May 3 and 4, 2006.

He began his police career in 1983, in the state of Tabasco, where he served as director of Public Security from 1982 to 1988, in the Government of Enrique González Pedrero.
