Wilfrido Robledo dies, former director of CISEN, linked to the Atenco case

“I deeply regret the sensitive death of Admiral Wilfrido Robledo Madrid, without a doubt a trainer of many cadres in matters of national security, we learned from him his deep vocation and love for serving Mexico! Solidarity hug for his whole family, ”wrote De la Cuadra, head of the C5 of the state of Mexico.

Who was Wilfrido Robledo Madrid?

Robledo was born in Acapulco, Guerrero. His police career began in 1983 in Tabasco, where he served as director of Public Security from 1982 to 1988, in the government of Enrique González Pedrero.

He was identified as the “brain” of the operation in San Salvador Atenco that left three dead, more than one hundred wounded, 211 detainees and 47 women raped, tortured and imprisoned, including two Spanish citizens.

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) sentenced the Mexican State after finding it responsible for “sexual violence, rape and torture” against 11 women in the Atenco case, which occurred in the State of Mexico on May 3 and 4, 2006.
