Why a group of Dian workers goes on strike

Countdown to take advantage of relief offered by Dian to debtors

Synedian, one of the biggest unions of the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (Dian), starts a strike this Thursday, July 14.

This decision is given, according to the accused, due to the failure of the National Government and the non-signing of a decree that provides for the creation of 1,000 vacant positions in the entity.

The organization, of which 95 employees are part, says that 11,000 people currently work at Dian, but for its operation in optimal conditions, 17,000 are needed.

“Everything seems to indicate that weakening the Dian is a matter of political calculation. After the elections, the current government plans to leave the entity in crisis. which means more than 90% of the Nation’s current income,” says the union.

Nothing strange if we observe the disaster that Duque bequeaths in his sad exodus with more than 300 dismissals and 700 impairments to officials throughout the country, which negatively impacts the fulfillment of the mission in the Dian”, he adds.

This strike is announced in the midst of the appointment, by the elected president, Gustavo Petro, of the new director of the Dian, Louis Carlos Reyes.
