Who are Fernández's close collaborators?

Fernández retains his old collaborators and adds new ones to his team

Leonel Fernández started his project to return to the presidency of the Republic in 2024 with a political organization, Fuerza del Pueblo (FP), which obtained 8.95% of the vote two years ago, but recently deposited the organization’s register with the Central Board. Also Manuel Fermín, trusted lawyer of the former president; Josefina Pimentel, rector of the Global Institute; Antonio Florián (Peñita), general secretary of the FP, Joaquín Gerónimo, Luis Toral and Fernando Fernández.

Of his former collaborators, Rafael Alburquerque, Franklin Almeyda, Radhamés Jiménez, José Rafael Vargas, Annia Valdez, Bautista Rojas Gómez, Daniel Toribio, Félix Bautista and Ligia Amada Melo continue to star.

The team is completed by Dionni Sánchez, spokesperson for the senators’ block of the FP and Rubén Maldonado, spokesperson for the deputies, as well as Franklin Rodríguez, senator from San Cristóbal.

Also Demóstenes Martínez, José Izquierdo and Raúl Martínez, both leaders of Santiago and the latter is the head of the organization’s legal affairs secretary.

Other collaborators operate from outside

Other close collaborators of Fernández act from outside, as is the case of José Francisco Peña Guaba, who puts together strategic political alliances and with other organizations. The son of the late political leader, José Francisco Peña Gómez, resigned from the government of Danilo Medina in the last elections to support Fernández’s candidacy. He has now announced a political alliance of parties and movements, Ganaremos, to add support to the project for 2024.
