HAVANA, Cuba.- “Everything here gets wet, I have lost everything, my furniture, my things and there is no one to help me,” denounced Juan Osmani Paula Suárez, a Cuban whose dwelling It is falling apart as a result of the deplorable construction state in which it is located. Under its roof he can no longer take shelter.
He property in question is located on Almendares street number 6, between Santa María and Santa Teresa, Plaza de la Revolución municipality.
Most of the roof of the house has been collapsing little by little and the authorities have ignored Paula Suárez’s request for help, despite the danger to which she is exposed.
“I have been asking the State help me I have gone to housing (Municipal Housing Directorate) to the State Council (population services offices), to everyone who has to do with this here and they do not help me,” said the interviewee.

The man highlighted that the leaks due to the rains caused him to lose most of his material belongings, which makes his life even more difficult, since he is unable to acquire them again due to the inflationary process that affects the country.
“I have lost my furniture, the television, everything, I have lost everything, and at any moment I will also lose my life if they do not help me with this situation, because this is falling apart,” he said.
Meanwhile, Paula Suárez recalled that on occasions she has spent entire mornings without being able to sleep because of the rains: “Here it rains more outside than inside and it is not easy at all to be in a little corner “I leave the house waiting for it to clear so I can sleep, because I get wet and I’m tired, I can’t take this anymore.”
