After the COVID 19 pandemic, the risk of contagion in public places is increasing, for this reason, people choose to travel in different types of transport that offer them the security of avoiding the spread of the virus and the comfort of driving their own time.
In that sense, Attach’s visibility study on the Automotive industryfrom January to July 2022 there was an increase in the commercialization of light vehicles by 11% compared to 2021.
Private mobility is becoming a more desired goal for citizens. In August 2022, trucks, cars and vans have become the most sought after by Peruvian users, reaching 6 million, a number that far exceeds July 2020 and January 2021.
Like this category, electric motorcycles and scooters have tripled their preference since the beginning of the pandemic, the study indicated.
However, the omnibus and minibus trucks have not had a great reception, since as of September 2022 they have presented a great drop in the search for information about them.

Toyota and Hyundai have become the favorites of Peruvians looking for light vehicles such as cars, SUVs and trucks. Followed by these are Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Kia and Honda. For electric scooters, motorcycles, ATVs, and bicycles, the favorites are Xiomi, BMW, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha.
While on the heavy haul side, in 2022, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Mercedes Benz are the buyers’ favorites and so far in September, Jac and Volvo have joined the category.
Finally, as denoted in the statistics, it can be interpreted that this great growth in vehicle preferences is related to the arrival of COVID-19, being one of the consequences of its appearance.
