What is the Vision Colombia 2050 document and what will it be for?

The National government, at the head of National Planning Department (DNP), announced the start of construction of Vision Colombia 2050, a document that will be the roadmap to project a series of elements that will allow building a better country for the next 30 years.

With this document, which will be built in a participatory way between experts, entities and the public, it is sought to generate an input that will serve as a basis for new government plans that anticipate rrisks and opportunities.

According to the DNP, in a first stage, through 42 workshops (face-to-face and virtual), each of the proposals will be consolidated, which will then be articulated with long-term policies, such as Conpes documents, missions and departmental visions. In addition, it will serve as an input for future development plans.

This work will be developed around five thematic axes: State, democracy and security; equity and social development; productive apparatus and competitiveness; innovation and digital society; and climate change and clean growth.

The final document is expected to be ready in the middle of first semester of 2022, after having consulted, structured and linked different actors in its elaboration process.
