Just a few minutes after being sworn in as Minister of Health, a video of Hernan Condori where he promoted the Cluster X2, a product that experts have described as fraudulent. Known as hexagonal water, gel water among other bizarre names, it has been described as a scam by scientific publications.
But, what is this clustered water so promoted by Condori? As the former Minister of Health, Luis Solari, explained to Canal N, it is “a water in which a variation has been made to the way in which its molecules are presented compared to the one that comes through the pipe. This clustered water, which is the translation of clustered, is supposed to be better absorbed, but it does not cure anything. It cannot be offered as a healing wonder of doctor ‘so-and-so’, it cannot be offered like that”.
However, the brand new minister of Pedro Castillo in a very sensitive sector at this juncture, defended the product and answered the questions due to this publication at a press conference.

“I have always worked in the promotional preventive part in my 24 years as a doctor. I don’t have to delete anything from my Facebook page. I have made different publications about hepatitis, the use of the pulse oximeter, about COVID-19 and different products to be able to educate the public,” said Condori.
“This product is a type of ‘clustered water’ that has permission from the Digemid, from Digesa, from the FDA and that can be marketed in different drugstores and pharmacies. It is a product that has its patent worldwide”, he maintained and reiterated that this was part of his work as a “professional doctor in the preventive part”.
However, according to Healthline, there are no studies that corroborate the existence of these supposed benefits that clustered water provides, indicating that in a 2013 study by Hannam University in Korea, this type of water reduced glucose levels and damage in the genetic data of blood and liver in rats with diabetes for two months.
Although the results sound promising, the study was small and the results were not replicated in humans.
Despite this, in the publication of the now Minister of Health, you can hear him promoting the product effusively:
“Our cells need water, with the clustered water, they will hydrate the cells of our brain, our pancreas, our lungs. It allows nutrients to enter cells and release toxic substances. It is called the miraculous water. This does not cure, but improves”.

One of the harshest criticisms was from Dr. Elmer Huerta, who described as “shameful” the promotion of clustered water by Hernando Cevallos’ new replacement.
“This is shameful. New health minister Hernán Condori Machado turned out to be a promoter of fraudulent products. In this video you can see how he offers “clustered water” that, in his feverish imagination, has healthy properties. Peru does not deserve this!” said Dr. Huerta.
“That type of “clustered water” as the product offered by Mr. Condori is known, won an award for being the product “with the most ridiculous, outrageous, unscientifically unsupported or exaggerated claims about aging”, “he stated through his twitter account.
On the other hand, the Dean of the Regional Council of Lima – Medical College of Peru, Ildauro Aguirre, assured that, in his 35 years as a doctor, it is the first time he has heard of clustered water.
“One of the things that as doctors we always defend is that the authorization of a drug must have scientific support, and for this it takes years, and there is no scientific study regarding this product. This is called pseudoscience. There is no study that supports the product of the new minister,” Aguirre assured for Latina.
