The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, thanked his social networks for the visit of four children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), who transmitted their needs and opinions, and gave him a specific bill to this community.

“Ian, Bruno, Joaquín and Santiago visited me. We chatted and they shared their ideas and experiences with me. I congratulate them for their commitment and contribution to continue building a society that accepts and respects differences. A real pleasure to meet you, thank you! #Let’s Talk About Autism”, the official posted on Twitter along with a video that condenses the most important moments of the meeting.

In the video, one of the boys, 9-year-old Ian, is heard telling the minister that “It is important that the government make the autism law, also because it is also a way that we can be a more inclusive city”.

The boy known for his activism in networks in favor of the rights of people with ASD added that he has “many proposals in this regard”, such as “putting pictograms at bus stops or not throwing more fireworks”.

That alone “would go a long way,” he said.

“Tommy, here’s the law, excuse me it’s a little wrinkled,” said Ian when he handed over the project to the minister, who downplayed the state of the paper and reassured him by saying “it looks great like that.”

Hours later, the boy posted on his Instagram @ianmoche: “Thank you very much @wadodecorrido for receiving us, listening to us, taking note of our school and health challenges! We had the opportunity to have the word autistic in such an important space and that It makes me happy! Inclusion is not just a word or a Law, it is our RIGHT. Surely in a couple of weeks we will meet again and we trust that we will have good news. Thank you for your commitment to a more friendly and empathetic society”.
