According to the provisions of National Law No. 25,415/2001, every boy and girl must undergo, a few days after birth, a free and mandatory study called otoacoustic emissions (OAS).
If this test reveals possible hearing problems and further tests confirm it, the person has right to the provision of hearing aids or hearing aids, as well as hearing rehabilitationboth in public hospitals, as well as in the private sector and social works.
Hearing loss is a limitation of auditory function, it consists of the inability to hear sounds in different tones or intensities and, therefore, hinders the development of speech, language and communication. Detection, access to equipment and timely support facilitate social inclusion, education, work and communication at all ages.
