The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting this Wednesday with the Regional Director of the World Food Program (WFP) for Latin America and the Caribbean, María Dolores Castro Benítez; to address cooperation agreements in food matters.
The meeting is held at the headquarters of the Vice Presidency, and they also participate; the representative of the WFP in Venezuela, Laura Melo, among other delegates.
The WFP delegation is in the country, fulfilling a work agenda, to review the agreements signed in 2021.
Recently, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with the Executive Director of the UN WFP, David Beasley.
During the conference, the strategic plans for cooperation and support with this organization for strengthening food in our country were evaluated.
Venezuela and WFP agreed to expand the current WFP program in the country to reach one million girls and boys in 2023.
This program – signed in 2021 – directly serves some 430,000 people by delivering baskets to take home in eight states of the country.
