The vice minister for North America, Carlos Ron, assured this Wednesday that the Monroe Doctrine, formulated by the United States (USA) almost 200 years ago, is still valid and is frequently expressed in interventionist actions on Venezuela and other Latin American countries.
The information was released during the forum “Towards 200 years of resistance against the Monroe Doctrine”, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Caracas.
The activity had the participation of professors and analysts, Ali Ramón Rojas and José Gregorio Linares.
During his speech, Ron indicated that this doctrine has evolved to 2.0, creating new methodologies to attack the sovereignty of States.
In this sense, he highlighted that one of these new methods are the unilateral coercive measures that are applied to the countries of the world, as well as the judicialization of policies, as was the case with the Argentine vice president Cristina Kirchner and the Brazilian president Lula da Silva.
Other of the domination methodologies it is executed through financing to non-governmental organizations and fundamentalist religious practices, he explained.
“They’re all part of a plan that is the domination project of imperialism,” Ron pointed out.
The vice minister highlighted the importance of knowing these new measures of domination and the history of the country, in order to face the challenges and “a defense of the just, firm and sovereign homeland.”
