The PSTU candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Vera Lucia, said today (19) that she intends to fight the informality of the labor market with measures such as the reduction of working hours without reduction in salary and a public works plan.
“Our program proposes to reduce working hours without reducing wages. The reduction to 30 hours a week alone would open more than 10 million jobs,” said Vera, who campaigned today in Salvador.
“The implementation of a public works plan, at the same time, will generate jobs and guarantee the expansion of public services, with the construction of day care centers, schools, hospitals, health centers, popular housing and sanitation works”, he added.
The PSTU candidate also stated that she will include all workers, formal and informal, in Social Security and will revoke labor and social security reforms.
Vera’s agenda this Monday also included a walk in downtown Salvador, an interview with Carta Capital magazine and a debate at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).
