Venezuela urges UNHCR to work without defamation against the country

The Minister of Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, urged this Saturday the institutions of the United Nations System (UN), to carry out their technical and professional work without slandering the country.

This, after the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (Acnur) questioned the policies implemented by the National Government and assured that Venezuela must “guarantee that all those people who have had to flee their homes in search of protection have access to their rights” in the country.

“Venezuela hopes that the institutions of the United Nations System dedicate themselves in a technical and professional manner to fulfill the mission entrusted by the Member States and cease the use of them to defame our Homeland,” Gil wrote on his Twitter account. .

This, despite the fact that, from Venezuela, the Return to the Homeland plan was relaunched, so that citizens who are outside the country and wish to return – after the events of xenophobia registered in recent years -; do it for free.
