The National Government denounced before the international community the fact of vandalization and fire of the consular headquarters of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Bogotá, Colombia, which occurred in the early hours of this Monday, April 18, 2022.
The information was released by the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Relations through a statement published on the social network Twitter @CancilleriaVE, in which it highlighted the lack of protection of the consular headquarters, which violates the provisions of the Convention on Vienna.
Likewise, the text categorically rejected the vandalization of the headquarters of the Consulate General of the Bolivarian nation, located on the North highway with 105 in the city of Santa Fe. Since 2019, it has been “subject to illegal acts of permanently, the receiving State incurring, by action or omission, in a flagrant and repeated violation of the essential norms on which diplomatic and consular relations are based.
Given the above, the Bolivarian Government demands that the authorities of the New Granada nation respect and protect the Venezuelan diplomatic and consular offices.
