Venezuela and Russia reviewed bilateral agenda

The Minister for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, held a videoconference on Tuesday with his Russian counterpart, Serguei Lavrov, in order to review the bilateral agenda between the two nations.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Gil explained that in the call, they also discussed the new challenges of the global geopolitical landscape.

“I had a call with Minister Seguei Lavrov of the Russian Federation. We convey a message of support from Pte. @NicolasMaduro to Pte. Vladimir Putin and we review issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as the challenges and actions that the new international geopolitics demands of us, ”he wrote on the social network.

It should be remembered that Venezuela stated over the weekend his support for the government and to the people of Russia, in the face of the attempted armed insurrection, through terrorist methods.

This, after the Telegram channel of the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, published several audio recordings with accusations against Russian military leaders.

Following this, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) opened a criminal case on a call for an armed riot. The FSB urged Wagner’s fighters not to obey Prigozhin’s orders and to take measures to arrest him.

Subsequently, the Wagner Group Leader, Yevgueni Prigozhin reported that he accepted the proposal of the President of Belarus, Alexander Luskahenko, to stop the movement of his forces in Russian territory and agreed to take measures to reduce tensions.
