The new Foreign Minister of the Republic, Carlos Faría, held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in which they ratified the willingness to intensify cooperation between Moscow and Caracas.
“The parties analyzed current issues on the bilateral agenda, confirmed the mutual willingness to continue expanding Russian-Venezuelan cooperation in the international arena based on the aspiration to build a more just world order and guarantee international peace and security,” he reported. the Russian Foreign Ministry on its Telegram channel.
Lavrov congratulated Faría on his appointment as the new Foreign Minister and thanked him for “his important contribution as Ambassador of Venezuela to Russia to strengthen the strategic alliance between our countries.”
Faria was appointed on Monday as new Chancellor of the Republic by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who affirmed that he is a man who knows very well Bolivarian diplomacy, the geopolitical environment and the fight for a multipolar and multicentric world.
Caracas and Moscow share a High-Level Intergovernmental Commission in which alliances have been signed in multiple areas such as health, economy, culture, oil, mining, tourism, among others.
