Venezuela and Cuba reaffirm common agenda of cooperation and brotherhood

Venezuela and Cuba will continue advancing with the common agenda of brotherhood and cooperation focused on the path of unity and peace, as was ratified this Monday by the foreign ministers of both countries during a meeting in BrusselsBelgium, where they participate in the celebration of the III Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) and the European Union (EU).

The information was released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, through his account on the social network Twitter, in which he indicated that he met with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez, with whom he met in Brusselsa propitious place to ratify the ties of brotherhood and solidarity between both nations.

“We exchange messages of support for our peoples,” Gil said.

“During our stay in Brussels for the EU-CELAC Summit, we met with the Cuban Foreign Minister, @BrunoRguezP, with whom we exchanged messages of support for our peoples. Cuba and Venezuela will continue advancing on the path of unity and peace,” the Foreign Minister published.

It should be remembered that both foreign ministers are in Brussels to participate in the Celac-EU Summit, which will take place on July 17 and 18.

Fraternal relations between Venezuela and Cuba

During the meeting, both diplomats reviewed the relations of brotherhood and solidarity that unite Venezuela and Cuba.

Likewise, they ratified their anti-imperialist position by reiterating the rejection of unilateral coercive measures (MCU) and the blockade imposed by the United States on both nations.

The authorities highlighted the need for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to unite to form a large bloc that will put an end to the US hegemony that has done so much damage to the world, said a note from the Chancellery.

Path of Fidel and Chávez

For his part, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stressed that during the meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil, the ties of brotherhood and solidarity were reaffirmed.

“In a friendly meeting with the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, @yvangil, we reaffirm the unbreakable brotherhood between our peoples and governments. We will continue advancing together on the path bequeathed by Fidel and Chávez, promoting cooperation and solidarity between our nations,” Rodríguez said on the social network Twitter.

For both governments, both Venezuela and Cuba, it is imperative to work to consolidate a more just world, in which the right to sovereignty and self-determination of peoples are fundamental principles.

Ally in just causes

Foreign Minister Yván Gil also highlighted his meeting with the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, whom he described as a “friend and ally of just causes.”

Venezuela-Cuba Relations

Relations between Cuba and Venezuela were strengthened from the year 2000, after the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez to the presidency and are strengthened in the management of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

It is important to emphasize that both nations have maintained relations of brotherhood, respect and solidarity and have resulted in the signing of various cooperation agreements in the areas of health, economy, education, sports and culture, among others.
