The southern Chinese city of Canton, also called Guangzhou, is the capital of the province of Canton or Guangdong and the third largest city in the Asian giant, after Shanghai and Beijing.

Venezuela and China They have maintained diplomatic relations since 1974, but it was with the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez, since 1999, that the bilateral link took on a strategic nature for the development plans of both nations.

In this sense, in 2001 the China-Venezuela High Level Mixed Commission was created and thanks to the important steps achieved in the political-bilateral relationship, in 2014 the ties were raised to a Comprehensive Strategic Association, during the visit of the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, to the country.
