Vehicle sales in the country grew 7.7% in the first two months

Between last January and February vehicle sales total 36,590 unitsaccording to Runt figures analyzed by the Andi-Fenalco Alliance.

The report indicates that in February 19,199 new machines were registeredof which 17,079 are light vehicles and the balance is heavy cars (trucks), with which the second month shows a reduction of 2.3% compared to February 2021.

Juliana Rico, director of the Andi Chamber of the Automotive Industry, and Eduardo Visbal, vice president of Foreign Trade and Vehicles at Fenalco, highlight the performance of the sector despite the shortage of new vehicles caused by the international logistics problems and supplies of technological components.

Likewise, during February, the best-selling brand was Renault which placed 3,452 units, and had a market share of 18%; followed by Chevrolet with 2,731 3 registrations and a 14.2% share.

To the third place in sales of the month came volkswagen with 1,783 units, and a 9.3% share. It must be said that this brand comes in an aggressive portfolio renewal program that keeps it in the retina of customers.

In fourth place is suzuki which placed 1,681 units, which gives it a market share of 8.8%, and closes the ‘top 5’ of the month Toyota with 1,508 units and a share of 7.9%. In total, these 5 brands represent 58.1% of the month’s sales cake.

On the other hand, this year 100% electric vehicles are gaining marketin February they placed 323 units and accumulate 720 machines in the two-month period, while the hybrids made 1,449 units and accumulate 2,691 in the two-month period.

In the motorcycle market, sales grew 34% in the month to reach 74,825 units and in the two-month period they already add up to 137,344 motorcycles, as reflected in the figures presented by Andemos.
