With the aim of promoting the return to face-to-face classes, several non-profit organizations, international organizations and unions came together to launch the “#YoRegreso” campaign this Tuesday.
The campaign highlights “the sense of urgency about the importance” of Panamanian teachers and students returning to the classroom.
The organizers want “each member of the educational system and community to determine why and for what it is important to return to the classroom.”
According to those responsible for the campaign, in the last two years of the pandemic and distance education for most children and adolescents in the country, learning has deteriorated.
They added that this situation could lead to a serious generational crisis that “will limit access to future opportunities for thousands of students.”
#YoRegreso receives the support of #TodoPanamá, Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama, Panamanian Chamber of Social Development, Allies for Children and Adolescents, the Great Educational Alliance, Council of the Private Sector for Education, Observatory of Children and Adolescence and the Commission for Civic and Moral Values.
This initiative is also supported by the Andean Development Corporation, the Panamanian Chamber of Information Technologies, Innovation and Telecommunications, the Organization of Ibero-American States, the Panamanian Association of Business Executives and the World Bank.
