Vaqueros de Panamá Oeste are solo leaders and the only undefeated in the Youth Championship

The West Panama Cowboys attacked the “Leña Roja” fiefdom, José Antonio Remón Cantera, and won 6 runs to 3 at home against the Coclesan troop in the main game of the day, in the LIV National Youth Championship 2023, Cup Savings Bank in honor of Magaly Medina.

Those led by Carlos César Maldonado put a mark of 5 wins and no losses, to command the standings of the contest so far this season, being the only team that does not know defeat at the beginning of the season.

The Vaqueros had 9 hits tonight, good for 6 runs, with 2 errors and 10 runners left on the trail, while Coclé had 3 scores, 12 hits and 2 field errors.

The victory went to reliever Franklyn Rojas, the third of three pitchers used by Carlos César Maldonado, with a good job of 3.0 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, no walks and two fans. The game was lost by Alex Vargas, the third of three pitchers used by manager Rodrigo Merón.

The best at bat for the West, Alfredo Alderete 5-3, Adrian Saavedra 5-2 and Marlón Quintero 2-1. For the Coclé team, Luis Escudero 3-2, Iverson Allen 5-1 and Tomás Bryant Sarmiento 3-2 stood out.

Bocas wins visit in Monagrillo

The international Jonathan Mendoza was key in the victory against Herrera at home at the Claudio Nieto de Monagrillo, when he went 4-2 with a run scored and an RBI, leading Bocas del Toro to a 6-for-4 win on Tuesday the 10th January, in the National Youth 2023.

The Tortugueros scored 6 hits together, scored 6 runs and made 2 errors, while Herrera had 9 hits, with 4 scores and 1 fielding error. Roberto Núñez wins the match and closes it in great shape again for Bocas, the World Cup right-hander Jezler Baúles. Ramce Pinilla loses the match.

The best at bats for Bocas del Toro were Keynor Forchiney 3-1, Johan Downer 3-1, Hector Rayo 4-1 and Orlando Murray 3-1. For Herrera, Luis Rivera stood out from 5-1, Xavier Castillero from 4-2 and Luis Villarreal from 3-2. César García and Didier Fuentes homered for Herrera.

In other results:
In other commitments of the day, Colón defeated the Potros de Panamá Este 2-1 with great work on the mound of right-hander Julio Ruiz who walked 6.0 good innings, with 4 hits, 1 run, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Darién lost again, this time against Panama Metro, 10 runs to 0, in a game where the Águilas Harpías only had 1 hit and the metropolitans fired 10 cannon shots, playing at Rod Carew.

Occidente loses to Chiriquí 6 races to 1 and Los Santos makes a comeback in the ninth round and wins 3-2 against Veraguas at the Roberto Hernández in the city of Las Tablas.

Free Day on January 11, 2023, but the match between Colón and Coclé at the José Antonio Remón Cantera stadium in Aguadulce will be rescheduled, which should have been played last Monday, however it has been set for this Wednesday night from 7 p.m. :00 p.m.
