US Embassy in Cuba opens job offers

Madrid Spain.- The Embassy of the United States in Havana opened a call for employment for Cubans on the Island.

“OPEN VACANCY. Our Embassy has positions available. Join our work team! Carefully review the requirements of the vacant places and remember that not all require the same level of study and/or command of English. What are you waiting for to apply! Join the Team”, announced the consular headquarters this Monday through Twitter.

The positions offered are Safety Program Coordinator, Public Engagement Assistant, Information Assistant, and Resource Coordination Specialist.

The Embassy specified that Cubans who aspire to these offers must be previously approved and hired by the state employment agency PALCO, which has already begun to be questioned by those who have been interested in these jobs; by assume that the vacancies will be approved at the convenience of the Cuban regime.

Cuban citizens or legal residents and the diplomatic corps may apply to these options, indicates the information.

The call also details that those selected must join the work within a period of six weeks from the authorization of PALCO. The working day will be 39 hours per week, the consular headquarters indicated from its website, although it did not specify the salary.

The registration period will be open until August 21 (except for the Security Program Coordinator position, which has ended) and applications must be made through the ERA Electronic Recruitment System.

In last february the Embassy of the United States in Cuba opened employment positions for Security Guard, Mobile Patrolman, Cashier Assistant and Travel and Transportation Supervisor.
