US Embassy Condemns Murder of Journalist at PJC

“We condemn the attack on the life and freedom of the press of Pedro Juan Caballero’s journalist, Humberto Coronel. Our thoughts are with family, colleagues and the people of Amambay.” says the statement of the Embassy.

Likewise, they reiterate their support for the local authorities in their efforts to do justice.

The murder of journalist Humberto Coronel occurred shortly after noon on Tuesday when he was leaving the Amambay radio station.

Coronel was hit by the shots of the gunmen who were traveling on a motorcycle.

It is worth mentioning that in June of this year Coronel denounced that he had death threats. The man also had a website “Mbykymi” where he made posts that apparently were not liked by certain people.
