Uruguay leads the Rule of Law Index among 32 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean

In the last few hours, the 2021 report of the World Justice Project was released.

The report was released by the Uruguayan embassy in the United States.

Said report is made up of eight aspects: “Restrictions on government powers”, “Absence of corruption”, “Open government”, “Fundamental rights”, “Order and security”, “Regulatory compliance”, “Civil justice”, and “Criminal Justice”.

In this sense, Uruguay stands out in aspects such as “Fundamental rights” and “Absence of corruption”

Uruguay obtained 0.71 points. The scores range from 0 to 1 and the global average is 0.56, while the regional average is 0.52.

While the lowest score for Uruguay is 0.56 and corresponds to the area of ​​”Criminal Justice”, it still exceeds the regional and global average.

The study takes into account national surveys of households, professionals and legal experts.
