The University Confederation of Teachers (CUD) rejected “the kidnapping” of the contributions of its affiliates by the central government and the Public Manager and called on them to mobilize in defense of their savings.
The statement was made official during the Ordinary National Conference of University Professors, held in Santa Cruz.
The national executive secretary of the CUD, Carlos Salinas, reported that in compliance with the resolutions of the Conference, the II National Meeting on “Law 065 and the Public Manager, Advantages and Disadvantages for Affiliates” was also convened, which will be held this Thursday March 30 in Cochabamba.
In the event actions will be defined to assume in defense of the workers’ contributions, he indicated.
CUD’s position joins that of other workers’ organizations that question the administration of their contributions by the Long-Term Social Security Public Manager, which will have full control over these resources from next May.
The institutional pronouncement of the CUD also rejects the intention of the administration of Luis Arce to intervene in the free administration of resources of the universities and the “attempt to indoctrinate and mediocriize the new Bolivian generationsunder the pretext of implementing a new educational curricular reform”.
Likewise, he summoned the university community and the population in general to sign the books for judicial reform.
