The National Confederation of Workers (CGTP) has called a new national strike by February 9 with the aim of demand the resignation of President Dina Boluarte, who took office last December 7 after the Congress of the Republic decided to vacate former President Pedro Castillo after his failed coup.
The Junín National Unitary Command of Struggle, made up of various civil organizations, will also be part of this protest that seeks the resignation of the head of state.
The demonstrations in Junín take place under a context of deathsince three citizens of the Pichanaki district lost their lives on December 16.
In this regard, Raúl Ariste Cárdenas, secretary of the CGTP, affirmed that this strike will be observed in various cities of Junín; among them, Huancayo. Part of the main requests demanded by the protesters is premised on the resignation of Boluarte, a referendum for a constituent assembly, the closure of Congress and early elections.
Faced with requests for her resignation as President of the Republic, Boluarte Zegarra mentioned that she does not understand why and that it is a minority group that supports the demonstrations, which are promoted by radical left groups.
“Regarding my resignation, I have always said: it is not the vast majority that asks for it, it is a group of these gentlemen who are generating the protests in the street, especially from the leftist benches, which until now is not understood. what is your purpose of the resignation of Dina Boluarte”, he emphasized.
