Unemployment withdrawals in the Afores lose strength in January

The amount withdrawn in January was also 22% less than last December and 4.6% less than January 2021.

The Consar also announced that the number of workers who requested this help was reduced by 22% with 138,716 people.

As is already the trend, Afore Coppel, Azteca and Banorte were the three Afores that led by amount withdrawn. They were followed by Citibanamex, Sura and Profuturo.

People resorted to the savings they have in their Afore to overcome the crisis. In 2021, a historic outflow of resources was recorded for this concept. The requirements to be able to make the withdrawal are to have more than 46 days without work, to have the updated biometric file and not to have made this withdrawal in five years.

Those who have withdrawn money from their account will be deducted weeks of contributions that are necessary to retire upon reaching 60 years of age.
