UN General Assembly demands “immediate withdrawal” of Russian troops from Ukraine

The General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UN) issued a resolution calling for the “immediate withdrawal” of Russian troops from Ukraine.

It demands the “cessation of hostilities” in Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops. A total of 141 countries voted in favor and 7 against, while 32 countries abstained.

Among the countries in favor are all those of the European Union, the United States, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay; among others.

Abstainers included India, South Africa, Cuba, Algeria, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, El Salvador, Sudan, Vietnam and others.

While against were countries like Eritrea, Mali, Nicaragua, Syria.
